About Us
Aqua Specto is a water testing laboratory, coal testing laboratory and mineral testing laboratory situated in Witbank, Mpumalanga. The company is a closed corporation and serves the mineral rich areas of Mpumalanga and Gauteng in the mining, minerals and industrial sectors.
From its inception Aqua Specto CC has grown from strength to strength by continuously striving to meet and exceed customer expectations in the area of water testing.

The mining industry utilises 3% of the total water withdrawn in South Africa and is one of the industries responsible for the deterioration of water quality in South Africa.

Our Team
Aqua Specto is jointly owned by Jeanne Muller – Operations and Administration Manager and Dirkie Prinsloo – Quality and Technical Manager. The members of Aqua Specto are well qualified and experienced in their fields of expertise.
Management is committed to providing an analytical service which continuously meets the expectations of our customers and is committed to impartiality, confidentiality and integrity.
Jeanne liaises with our customers, team members and oversees the provision of effective and efficient analytical services. Jeanne ensures that the laboratory operations are running smoothly and efficiently by liaison between the customers and the laboratory personnel and ensures that the service and turnaround time meets the expectations and needs of our customers and clients. It is the responsibility of the Operations Manager to continuously work on strategies to improve where necessary. Her responsibilities include but is not limited to;
- Planning and controlling
- Managing liaison between the laboratory and the customer
- Investigating alternative methods of efficiency
- Setting and reviewing budgets and managing cost
- Administration and Purchasing
Dirkie, the Quality and Technical Manager ensures that the laboratory Quality Management System is implemented and maintained according to the requirements of the international standard – ISO/IEC 17025. Dirkie has over 30 years’ experience in the industry – analysis, quality control and auditing. Dirkie is responsible for the quality control and technical functions of the laboratory and is assisted by competent and trained personnel. The team ensures that the tests are carried out according to set, stated and validated methods with the necessary quality control procedures and checks in place.
Aqua Specto CC has over many years developed a range of analytical and technical specialty services which have many applications to mining and industrial operations. Due to their high-water usage and wastewater management requirements, these industries in particular are under increased pressure regarding water quality testing due to current Environmental Legislation on the protection of this resource.
Having identified this need in 2010, the directors of Aqua Specto CC established the laboratory to focus on water testing in the coal rich region of eMalahleni, “Place of Coal”.
